Best city for new year's eve

Hi,

I have 9 days to spend during Christmas and NYE and going with a bunch of friends. We like to dance and party during NYE. Can you recommend the best top 3 cities for this? We are also looking to sightsee a bit...

Thanks!

How about Prague?
Edinburg, I've been to Scotland already so would prefer not to revisit....

Been to Amsterdam twice as well...prefer not to re visit...

Any other cities you can think of?
Been to Rio as well before anyone throws that out.

NYC? meaning times square or clubs? Figured clubs would be expensive and may as well in that stay in SF where I live...

Or..Bali anyone? Barcelona? God been there too many times though...maybe we will train in from Prague to Amsterdam just for nye...

Sydney...hmm...

04, if you have been to a lot of the places we suggest can you please tell us where you have been so you do not get the same suggestions. It would be easier for all of us.
Thank you.

Sydney was AMAZING when i went 2 year ago. Got tickets to the Opera bar, fab views of the fireworks and included snacks. drinks were actually very reasonable too!
We plan to go NY 2011 back to Sydney, this time we will get tickets to the Botanical Gardens.

I have 9 days so I"m thinking Turkey sightseeing followed by NYE in Mykonos... Any thoughts on that?

OR

Prague + NYE in Berlin - but it will be super cold.

Hmmm....the flight prices to Sydney is like 2k.

Paris or Edinburgh. (I know you've been there, but have you been there for NYE? They know how to do it up, IMO!)

Edinburgh(note spelling)is fabulous for Hogmanay, it also has a winter festival before and after.

Another great place for new year is Berlin. Aside from a decent street party the clubs are excellent.
