Best Baguette in Paris Announced

Paris by Mouth has just announced Boulangerie Frederic Comyn in the 15th arr for this year's winner. ! So I guess we'll walk over there this Fall for a sample. We have been quite happy with Poilane in the past.

Just don't forget that fewer than 10% of the bakeries in Paris participate in this competition. While the winner certainly makes excellent baguettes, you might go past 20 boulangeries that make better baguettes on your way to visit the winner.

Paris by Mouth doesn't announce the winner, the city does. He may report on it, that's all. Lots of good baguettes, but this is a fun city promotion I think, the winner gets to supply baguettes to the Elysee Palace for a year. Last year's winner was pretty controversial and didn't show up to get the prize himself due to that.

There are ten runners up and this is the city's official announcement and event, the mayor awards it, it is their decision, they have a jury.
