Both cities have frequent train service to Cinque Terre

It's about equidistant from Pisa and Genoa, so you might just consider either one that provides the best connections. Also you can get train or bus service from either city. If driving, the coast road or the autostrada would be your two choices -- autostrada being the quickest, of course. Good luck.
