Best Accommodation for 2 in Prague at 100USD/82E or less?

I've done a lot of searching/reading on this and other boards and while I've found much information on lodging (no decision yet) I can't help but wonder...in your humble Fodorite opinion - what is the best accomodation for two in Prague at 100USD/82E/2340CZK or less per night?

Prague is the first stop on a week tour, so I'd like to save my funds for what I expect will be higher lodging costs in Paris and London. My daughter (a newly minted UW-Madison alumni - Go Badgers!) and I will be in Prague May 16-19. We're pretty adventurous travelers who prefer to try for a more local, less touristy experience, but I/Mom do draw the line at a shared bath...ensuite only please!

In anticipation of your kind assistance -Thank You Fodorites - you are good people and I've learned much through the generosity of this forum!

Can't answer your specific question but can suggest you think about where you want to locate and let that help to guide your choice. We recently stayed on Kampa Island and really liked it---right under the Charles Bridge so close to pretty much anything yet quiet at night.

We stayed at Hotel Kampa Garden which was about $120 US a night. We booked through Athos Travel. I think their website is www.athos.cz. They list many hotels and also offer discounts. They can also arrange for airport pickup which you may want to consider.

I think you and your daughter will love Prague. Have a wonderful time.

You might try http://www.eurocheapo.com/ for hotel reviews and recommendations. It's kind of a cool site. Also www.venere.com, which I have used several times with good results.

MaggieOB: Kampa Garden is one of the hotels I looked at and it's good to know your experience was positive. After checking Trip Advisor it appears all reviews shared your positive impressions. They have availability during our planned visit and it looks like we'll give it a try. It should be a great visit as this is our last big mother-daughter bonding moment before she heads off to the real world of 9-5+ and only 2 weeks of vacation that I'm sure she won't want to spend with her Mom.

noe847 - I’ve been to eurocheapo.com and agree it's a good site. I still have my Paris and London arrangements to make so I'll use that for help with those.

Many thanks to you both and Happy Traveling!

Have a great time in Prague. My girls (17 and 20) just love it, and it really is fun to share the experience with them. Spend as much time of the Charles Bridge as you can - which shouldn't be a problem seeing where you're staying! My girls liked the time we stayed on the Mala Strana side better than the Old Town side because they got to cross the bridge more often as we went to see the sights.

We just got back from London (went with younger daughter for her break, and my other daughter went for her break - the next week - to visit friends) They loved London also.

Please be sure to post a trip report when you get back!!
