Beatles Magical Mystery Tour

Has anyone went on the Beatles Magical Mystery Walking Tour? Did you enjoy it? How long is the tour? How large was the group, and could you hear the guide?

If people would only grow up....

Susan- I have never been on the Beatles tour, but London Walks (the tour operators) are supposed to be some of the best. The ghost tours and Jack the Ripper tours are very entertaining. There have been previous posts on this tour group in the past. Going to their site at www.walks.com and clicking on the questions link should answer any questions you might have.

I went on a Beatles walking tour some years ago given by the Original London Walks, and had a really fun time. It helps, of course, to know a thing or two about the Beatles so that you can really appreciate the significance of the places and the stories that the guide tells. Our guide had been winner of the "Beatles Brain of Britain" award, whatever that is, and though he was too young to remember the songs when they first came out he had an encyclopedic knowledge and boundless enthusiasm. Of course the walk included the Abbey Road studios (can't go inside, though) and the famous zebra walk, but there were many equally interesting spots, including the building on whose rooftop they filmed the performance of "Get Back" in _Let It Be_ and many others.

The group was about 25 people, as I recall, and we had no problem hearing the guide, who also played snippets of Beatles songs on a boombox from time to time. There's a lot of ground to cover, so it probably took a couple of hours. If you love the Beatles, you should certainly go on this walk.

We took the Beatles "In My Life" walking tour last year with London Walks. The group was about 20 - 25. It was raining so that might have made the crowd smaller. The guide (Richard) was very informative and was no problem to hear. It was around 2 hours long and he allowed us time to take photos and walk across Abbey Road (of course). It was alot of fun.
