Bayern ticket and ICE trains
I would like to travel on a Sunday from Munich to Aschaffenburg using the Bayern ticket for 2 people. Is it possible to take ICE trains with the Bayern ticket?
We will be traveling on to Frankfurt airport after that and I don't think the Bayern ticket covers this portion of the trip, so I guess we will have to purchase separate tickets from Aschaffenburg to Frankfurt, right?
Thanks for your help! Laurie

If you are travelling on a Sunday, you could use a Schoenes Wochenende ("Happy Weekend"
ticket to get to Frankfurt--Like a Bayern ticket, only valid throughout Germany on local trains, 2nd class for 33 Euros http://www.bahn.de/p/view/internatio..._tourist.shtml
The journey duration difference between local and faster trains is substantial, however. In exchange for saving a bundle, you will have about a 6 hour trip vs a 3.5 hour ride.

Thank you all for your help! I am getting a little frustrated, because when I go to the die bahn website and look at tickets between munich and aschaaffenburg, there are only ICE trains available.
How do I find regional trains?
Thanks again for your help! Laurie
