Barcelona vs. Nice?
Going to Venice for part of my honeymmon but debating on the other half- Nice or Barcelona?! I've been to Nice and I love it; my fiance has never been. Both have tons to offer, Venice will be new to the both of us but wondering if some familiarity will be nice?! Any input would be greatly appreciated

That's an enviable dilemma. Both are great cities. But as fabulous as Barcelona is, for a honeymoon trip, I'd probably opt for Nice (or maybe one of its lovely neighbors .. Villefranche, etc). Others may view this as sacrilege, but I think of Barcelona as a party town, and Nice as a little slower and more romantic. And if you're going to do the tourist thing in Venice, it might be nice to go somewhere new so you don't feel obliged to fully explore. Instead, you can have long leisurely meals, lay on the beach and do that honeymoon thing. Just my theory. Enjoy!

I'm writing under my wifes e-mail so this is coming from a "male" I also really enjoyed both cities! I guess being that your in Italy why would you not choose a location near? We loved florence, etc. Nice was "nice" Have you ever been to Paris very romantic! even Praque! I guess after jumping to conclusions I now realized you mentioned the other half of your trip!!!
Barcelona we had a great time Tapas 2am meals I guess I'm getting old, the city is full of life and vibrant wonderful food. We stayed on the Ramblas "Rivoli" great location!Just to let you know Venice is one of our favorite destinations. We had the priveledge to stay at the Uropa Regina Saint Marco square a beautiful hotel!

Sorry,
I guess I'm new at this and lost my thread. I agree with the earlier response Barcelona is a wonderful city although not so Honeymoonish! We are going to Positano and Capri in September for our 14th anniversary I've been told this is a great desination????? Best of luck where ever you decide.

What makes a place "honeymoonish"??? My point being that a lot of it is subjective and wheres "familiarity" is nice, new places that you can BOTH "discover" may be even more "honeymoonish."
Good luck and Congratulations! in advance.
