Barcelona to Paris
My husband and I plan to fly to Barcelona, spend 2 full days, and then take a train to Paris. We are not familiar with the train system and wonder if this is possible. Once in Paris, is it fairly easy to travel throughout the country by bus or train.
We would like to rent a place in Paris for a week. Does anyone have a suggestion. I am new to this site and eager to hear replies. Thanks.

A LOT of people are going to advise ypou to fly between the two and you can find the budget airline possibilities by going to either www.skyscanner.net OR www.whichbudget.com
Be AWARE that SOME budget airlines such as Ryanair use the Girona and not the Barcelona main airport at El Prat
As to the train...the easiest in some ways and also a more expensive option would be to take the night train between the two and you can get more information about that at www.elipsos.com
You can do it by day but it will involve some changes..they aren't hard to make but it may take longer.

There are many threads here about Paris rental apartments. Here is one that lists many options:

It is possible to buy a PREM ticket for the overnight train from Barcleona to Paris - I think we paid 69E to be in a four person (same sex) compartment. We ended up traveling with some young French girls that we enjoyed chatting with for the evening. I think if you can get a PREM fare, its a heck of a deal!
