Regarding the use of the metro in Barcelona, if you switch lines do you have to pay for another ticket or can you use the same ticket that you already have??
In 3 vists to Barcelona I've never yet used the metro. You can walk a lot of it & I got the impression that the open top bus tours (2 different routes - red & blue) cover everything else.
No need to buy another ticket. You only slide it through when you first enter. Then you just change lines and jump on the next metro. It's easy. I'd recommend taking it as it is a good, cheap service.
Barcelona is very walkable, but you'll probably want to use the metro to go up to the Sagrada Familia or over to the Montjuic funiculaire. You'll save a little by buying a 10-trip ticket.
