Barcelona Airport Connections
Traveling from States to Barcelona in October. Plane arrives at 7:45 am and we are planning on flying to Madrid without even leaving the airport. Question to those travelers who are familiar with BCN - would you think that we would have enough time to clear customs and make a noon flight on Iberia Airlines? I understand that our United arrival and Iberia departure would be from the same terminal. Thank you.

I am not familiar with Barcelona but in my 30+ years of travel to Europe I've never once needed anywhere close to 4hrs layover. Never needed close to 2 either.
The train from Barcelona to Madrid takes only ~3hrs total. Have you looked into that? If you caught the 9am train (likely too close to catch) or the 10am, you'd be in downtown Madrid before the noon plane landed at the Madrid airport.

Planning on taking trains for the remainder of our trip but was seeking to avoid the hassle of leaving the airport and traveling to the train station. I realize that eventually we will have to make the trip from an airport to the center of the city (unlike train station which is typically in the center of the city.) simply doing it in Madrid instead of Barcelona. We jumped at a rock bottom airfare round trip to Barcelona so eventually we will have to make our way back at the end of our trip. Thanks for your response.
