Putting them in a cohesive order is beyond my scope today!

Oh sure...after I looked at all 151 and have a stiff neck plus a boss who think's I'm napping all the time!
Give me your password and I'll put them in a nice logical order.
Did you just look at my photos today because Hochst is at the top (24 photos) but will shortly be at the bottom of the pile. I haven't finished working on the Hochst photos - just uploaded them this morning before work.
Each section is by city/area. The Bamberg girl is the last photo under Poznan.

Still haven't been able to identify the flag used in the protest in Frankfurt.
The colors: top green, middle white, bottom black are those of the United Arab Emirates, but there are red stars in the middle, soo...? any input?

Hi Mokka,
just thought I'd let you know that I found your excellent TR on a search and realised that I'd read it before! I was searching because the trip we start this Thursday will probably take us to Bamberg - we start with two nights in Hannover, then Wernigerode in the Harz, possibly followed by Weimar or Erfurt, south to Bamberg, then over the Rhein to visit friends in the Pfalz.
We would probably have 2 nights there and by the sounds of it, Bamberg has enough for at least a day's worth of sightseeing/beer and wine tasting. We'll have a car so we can always bail out for an afternoon if necessary. What do you think?

Two nights would be lovely. Tons of nooks and crannies to explore over a multitude of scenic bridges. Great cafes and even better Biergarten...be sure to try the Rauchbier (smoke beer) if you never have. Be sure to climb the steep street up to the 1000 yr old Dom. Have a lovely time! (I see that you are "trawling" for last minute tips ;-)). I myself leave for Solothurn, Switzerland in two weeks. Lets hope no Iceland eruption.

indeed, mokka. thanks for all your tips, here and elsewhere.
Do you think that we will be ok just turning up and finding a B&B? We prefer them to apartments, though I see what you say about FeWo, [which useful word I have added to my german vocabulary, BTW - they didn't exist when I learnt german at school, 40+ years ago] and don't discount them.
Have a great time in Switzerland.
