Ballinalacken Castle Hotel? - Ireland
Have any of you had positive/negative experience with the Ballinalacken Castle Hotel or do you have a favorite place to stay around the same area (Doolin/Cliffs of Moher)? http://www.ballinalackencastle.com/

Ballinalacken is a bit far from Doolin and is not a real castle (in case that is what you think). There is an old ruined castle on the grounds. Haven't stayed there myself. I was in Doolin recently and the new hotel (Doolin Hotel) is very nice. Cullinan's is always good.

I stayed there this past July. I liked it quite a bit. You can see some details in my trip report here:

I should add, the info about Ballinalacken is towards the end of that report, its the last place we stayed.
I think it was about a 10 minute from Doolin. It was easy enough to go into Doolin for dinner, or go to the pubs. it certainly wasn't walking distance.

As someone has said -- it is not really a castle, it is in a great location. It does have one of the best restaurants in Clare, and is only about 5 miles north of Doolin. The rooms are very nice and it's a fine place to stay. I think there are about 12-13 rooms at the place.
