Bad experience with Air Canada

>what happened on your Air Transat flight? My main impression of AT is how cramped it is, but everything else was OK.
Our departure was re-scheded a week before the flight. Even then, we left 2 hours late due to a lack of a plane. This blew our whole 1st day & the plans we had – rental car, local sightseeing etc – since we arrived in the dark.
Our departure was delayed 2 hrs. When we got to Toronto airspace we couldn’t land because of late night restrictions & we diverted to London, Ontario. Since customs was closed, we sat on the tarmac with surly plane staff & only water available for 6 hrs. Then we flew to Toronto where they finally let us escape – 7 ˝ hrs after our planned arrival. And yes, their seats are the most cramped I have ever seen.
Never again.

That sounds not so great on AT. But if it makes you feel any better, I've had multi-hour delays on Air Canada too, although not 7.5 hours. It's hardly unique, and there have been worse stories on other airlines, but a relative was once stuck on a Northwest plane on a runway for 5 hours.
Still, AT is one airline I am not keen to re-fly. But like any airline, if I'm lucky enough to get a row to myself, it's actually not so bad.
