Hi TDudette,
Thank you for your kind response. Another time we'd like to try San Luca. With the temperature ranging in the high 80's and 90's we didn't venture up the mountain! That's great you accomplished that walk during your stay!

Bologna shuts down every afternoon so it can be a challenge to find a meal for a late lunch or an early dinner. One place, however, is open daily from 8:30AM-7:00PM, Tamborini. There’s great food here, cafeteria style, at unbelievable prices. There’s an a/c dining area and beer on tap or wine available. We had eggplant with bread and water for 10 e!
Here’s some gelato shops we tried, all excellent-Il Gelatouro, Via San Vitale 98
La Sorbetteria, Via Castiglione 44 and Gelateria Gianni Piazza Santo Stefano.

Tcinct, I was so glad to see your report. I was in Bologna in October with my family (child and inlaws too!) and we had a fabulous time. I can't wait to go back. Didn't do the sports car stuff but that sounds like fun. Tell us all about your restaurants.
For the others traveling to Bologna, you will love it and for more restaurant suggestions, you can find an unfinished (oops) trip report under my name.
