Baby sitter in Paris

Hi,
Any one who have used a baby sitter earlier during their visit, please suggest how to find one.
Thanks.

Maybe contact the International Schools for older high schoolers who will speak English and be used to living in Paris?

I imagine the concierge of your hotel would be the best person to ask for recommendations or arrangements.

I am assuming you do not speak French well, or I could give you some French agencies, but I found a website for one that has an English section and says they will send babysitters to hotels. They look pretty legitimate and I think their ending is for nonprofits. They are Allo Assistance Babychou in the 13th arr.

www.babychou.asso.fr

The agencies I've seen charge around that rate -- 16 euro flat fee plus 8 euro per hour (and extras if you must pay for a meal or late-night taxi).

Maybe someone else has a personal experience to tell you.

The baby sitter sounds like the way to go. Here is a link I found on line for a baby sitter service. I understand they are strictly regulated in France, so you could feel that they supply competent, responsible people. This service even sends sitters to hotels, I think. Perhaps other Fodorites have other suggestions.

Oh, POOP! I mistakenly posted this reply on this old thread as I was trying to find a recommendation for another poster today who wanted restaurant recommendation with two little kids.

My bad ---
