BA carryon allowance
Hello,
Does British Airways allow a woman to also bring a purse along with a carryon weighing no more than 13 lbs? If they do, do they combine the weight of the 2?
Thanks,
Angela

I believe the rule is that the carry-on bag itself cannot be more than 13 pounds, not the combined weight of the two. In my case neither the purse nor the carry-on were very big so they did not weigh either of them. However, there was a woman at the counter beside me and they did ask to weigh her carry-on but not her purse.

angy I was prepared to have my carry on weighed by BA. I had worked so hard to make sure it was under the weight and they didn't weigh it. I guess you just need to make sure your purse doesn't look like another carry on

I just flew with BA with both a carry on and a purse and neither was weighed nor even looked at. In fact, on the flight back I knew my carry on exceeded the weight restrictions.
The weight restrictions, if followed, only apply to the carry on, not the personal item (purse).

BA didn't weight my 22" carry-on just looked at it, lifted it slightly, and said it had to be checked. In subsequent trips with them, I plan ahead, and simply know my suitcase will be checked thru.
I have never had my purse, pocketbook, or tote weighed or questioned. The only time I had the "problem" was when I attempted to carry-on only for a three week trip. Plus I used the ziplock bag compression method so although the case was allowable size it was HEAVY.
