B&B in Bath and Warwick

In Bath, we really liked the Sydney Gardens Hotel, which is a grand old Victorian house right on the park (with a gate that they give you a key for!), with 6 B&B rooms. It's in a quiet setting about 5 minutes' walk into Bath, offers parking and a huge English breakfast (with yogurt, fruit, and muesli for health nuts). Charming touches like a small fridge in a nook in thahall, with milk for you to use if you make use of the tea and biscuits setup in the room. They have a "family room" with 3 beds and ensuite bath.

We stayed in Stratford-upon-Avon, about 6 miles from Warwick, again about 5minutes' walk outside of town, a charming walk along the Avon canal. The Victoria Spa Lodge is, again, a lovely grand old house with about 6 - 8 rooms. It's pre-Victorian, however: Victoria herself stayed there as a princess. Also offers a huge breakfast.

Both places are entirely nonsmoking.

We stayed at the Chesterfield House on Great Pulteney Street in Bath and the Agincourt Lodge in Warwick. Both fully satisfactory places and conveniently located. In both cases, we arrived in the towns without reservations and these were booked through the local TIC.

The Eagle House Hotel is a charming place- a Georgian house set in its own grounds. It's in Bathford about 3 miles outside Bath but easy to travel into town by bus. Parking in Bath is a nightmare!
In Warwick The Old Fourpenny Shop is a real ale pub in a small street opposite one of the castle entrances. It has several rooms and is clean, bright and has excellent breakfasts.
