It is all about greed. Pat Croce & Co. own so many restaurants in Key West now and are pressuring their employees into voting yes on the dredging project. You know the line, no cruise ships no money or jobs for you. I am sure Venice businesses are doing the same to their people. Very sad. I hate the cruise industry. Very corrupt and unethical on so many counts.

http://thebluepaper.com/tag/channel-dredging/ Key West voted it down. Big win for the environment, Venice needs to get on board as do many other ports.

Iceland only allows two ships at a time into their waters as they realise they only have so many helicopters to pick bodies off.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the mainly amero-european high spending ships slowly become more asian low spending ships....
