Do a search for Blauvac. The Mercure Palais des Papes that Richard mentioned is good. Boots

Thanks. I looked into those two and they were fully booked. I found one called Hotel Saint George, does anyone know if this is any good?

See if the Hotel Horloge has any special rates (they did when we were there). Its a three-star, so its reliable, if unexciting. Small room, comfortable bathroom, good location right off Pl. Horloge.

Right across the river in Villeneuve-les-Avignon, is a charming little hotel called Hotel d'Atelier. Unless you are wedded into staying in Avignon, this little village is a great place to stay to do the area. Parking is easier than in Avig.

Loved that village, I stayed there alone for two weeks(not at that hotel tho.) You can walk across th bridge, take a bus or a boat to Avignon. I loved the walk, passing the boules players, etc. There is also one of the best Saturday morning flea markets there and A famous Provençal garden.

I stayed here in 1995; it was unforgettable - a restored cloister in a great location inside the walls of Avignon:
