Auto Rental in the Cotswolds

We have an overnight flight from California to Heathrow, where we intend to take a train and then Taxi to our destination, Ebrington. We hope to rent a car the following day. Can anyone recommend a reputable rental company that would deliver to Ebrington (about 2 miles east of Chipping Campdon), or at least one convenient to get to? Thanks in advance.

Tell us more about your itinerary . . .

There is no train from LHR to to the Cotswolds. You can take a train to London and then another train to Moreton-in-Marsh and a taxi or bus from there. Or you can take a bus from LHR to Oxford and a train from there then taxi. But that is a lot of messing about.

Must you get to Ebrington that same day?

What time do you land? If in the evening I'd probably stay that night at a LHR hotel or in Windsor and then collect a car the next morning and drive up to Ebrington.

And do you plan on using the car to tour around other parts of England or only in the Cotswolds. ? The few rental cars in the Cotswolds are small local firms and don't allow one-way rental so if you are heading elsewhere you'd really need to rent from a national company - which wouldn't likely deliver to Ebrington.

Tell us more and we can help you work out a solution . . .

I notice you asked a semi-similar question on your earlier thread and got a couple of responses but may not have seen them since you didn't return to it again.

Yes, we definitely need more info before we can give useful advice. Must you get there the same day you arrive? Are you driving to other parts of the country?

Yes, we know about the train situation. Baring another AA schedule change, will arrive LHR about 9:30 AM. Booked that evening and 5 more nights at ebrington arms. Then booked at Fossebridge. Then plan to return car, hopefully at Moreton in Marsh and train to Oxford for a couple of nights then back to Paddington and then to LHR for 12:30 AM flight. There appear to be a few small companies, but know nothing about either. Planning on staying strictly in the Cotswolds. Hope this helps, and tkanks again.

I think I see the error of my ways now. Looks like the best option to get to Ebrington is bus to Reading, train to MIM, and taxi. Only question: is the Reading Bus Station close to the Train Station. The train operator shows no trains from bus station to MIM>

" the Reading Bus Station close to the Train Station."

No idea. The bus from Heathrow goes to the railway station.
