Austria or Germany Visa? Help please
Hello everyone,
I need help with my Schengen visa.
In October my husband and me are travelling to Germany and Austria. Our port of entry is Germany and we will be there for 4 days and in Austria for 5 days. We will be leaving from Salzburg, Austria.
Now my query is do I have to get a German or Austria visa? Which VFS office do I have to go to, to apply my visa?
Any help, advise and tips are much appreciated.
Thank you

If you are a citizen of the U.S., you don't need a visa at all for a short visit to Germany or Austria. Your country of citizenship is what determines the requirement for a visa. A visa is good for only the country you are visiting. So if Germany requires a visa of citizens from your country, then you must get one. If Austria requires a visa, then you must get one. What is your citizenship?

You need a Schengen visa, assuming you need a visa at all. Technically you should apply to the Austrian consulate for the visa since you are there longer. However a lot depends upon which consulates you have in your home country.
Contact both and see what they say.
