Our plan is to do a scenic drive on our way from Hallstatt to Innsbruck ( we would have already made the Salzburg to Hallstatt drive). We are looking into doing the Grossglockner Alpine Road and perhaps stay in a nearby area for one evening. We will then proceed to Innsbruck the following day.
Where should we stay after doing the Grosslocker drive? We would like to be in a picturesque town.
What scenic drive should we then take to Innsbruck?
Our goal is take in as much of the Austrian scenery.

Any suggestion for beautiful drives from Hallstatt to Innsbruck is appreciated.

I liked Zell am See at the other end of the Pinzgau valley when I was in that area. The lake is very pretty.

For a scenic drive from here to Innsbruck, go via Mittersill, the Gerlos Pass into the Zillertal and to Innsbruck.
