Auberge Flora hotel - Paris

We are thinking of staying at Auberge Flora on Richard Lenoir for 10 days in May 2017.

I'd appreciate your thoughts on the hotel, if you have any. Seems to be a bit quirky; but reviews seem positive. We are familiar with the area and also hear that their restaurant is quite good.

Thanks~

Fair rating on booking.com, sounds like the rooms may be cramped.

The hotel is on a busy corner and is very close to the Bastille market on Thursday and Sunday mornings. Saturdays there is an art market in the same space.
There will be lots of truck noise, due to deliveries at nearby hotels and supermarkets, as well as during the market. Deliveries to the market begin at 6 AM. Even with double-glazed windows, you'll hear noise.

I've been to the restaurant several times, and found it uneven. Flora's menu is entirely her own - and it's not always successful - it depends on how she's feeling that day.

I think you might look around for a better hotel.

We walked past it a few times on our last visit to Paris in October. It looks as though it might be noisy, especially on market day(s). Check out the Hotel Gabriel, a couple of blocks away on the rue du Vieux Prieuré. It has two sister hotels on the same street. All of them really pretty, small (yes, small rooms, too), but really, really quiet and only a stone's throw from Richard Lenoir and its great markets. Don't eat at La Pharmacie, either. Totally overhyped.

St C --- I did check H Gabriel after seeing your comments on it on another thread...way more than the 60€ than you paid. This is for mid May 2017. What are the names of their other properties? Thanks.

(Auberge Flora was on the list of hotels we can stay using Ultimate Reward points.)

Flora Mikula regularly appeared on a French cooking show (which no longer exists), but this will give you an idea of her personality and cooking ideas:

Hi debit. The other two hotels on the same block are Hotel 20 and Hotel Angely. Don't know anything about them, but the concierge at our hotel was regularly going across the street to those hotels, so I can only assume they are affiliated. They both looked really nice. And the street is just wonderfully quiet, but you're just steps away from the Richard Lenoir market, the Bastille, loads of shops and cafés and restaurants (and a nice little grocery store). It was our first stay in the neighborhood (we'd wandered around it in the past but never stayed there), and we just loved it.

Yes, on Voltaire, they both are fairly close to one another.
