Please help! We are going to Italy in March, and want to rent a car for a few days while we are in Umbria/Tuscany. But Assisi is our first stop after we have landed at FCO - will go there directly from Termini. I just cannot remember if there is any company at Santa Maria Degli Angeli? Or anyone who will deliver a car there? To drop the car will be OK, as we plan to do that in Siena. Semmingly Orvieto will also be a good choice - if I think about all the stuff I have read on Fodor's! Hello Helen,<BR><BR>None of the main companies seem to have agencies in Assisi/S.M degli Angeli. Your best option will be picking it up en route at Foligno (20 mins from Assisi) or Spoleto. (Your Rome-Assisi train passes through both).<BR><BR>At FOLIGNO there is AVIS.<BR><BR>At SPOLETO there is EUROPCAR and HERTZ.<BR><BR>There are other agencies (e.g MAGGIORE etc) at TERNI, which is also en route.<BR><BR>Hope this helps ...<BR><BR>Steve<BR><BR>

And why are you not renting at FCO?<BR>Why take 2 trains to Umbria ?

I was wondering the same thing, BOB.... it appears that it would be much less hassle to drive from FCO to Umbria than getting to Termini on to Umbria, on to renting a car. What are we missing??
