Arriving at CDG gunky?

How do you cope with an overnight flight which leaves you feeling pretty cruddy on arrival?
Is there anyplace at CDG, other than public restrooms, where you can brush up and spiff up?

Sure, there are hotels, if you want to pay for one. I go to my hotel in the city, check in, and freshen up, myself. If I arrive too early to get into my room -- well, that's just the way it goes.

What about showers at the airport terminal? I know some airports have them, so how about CDG, anyone?

This topic makes me envious of members of those "golden" frequent flyer clubs - the Admiral's Lounge, etc, always seem to have showers and changing facilities not available to the masses.

I've shaved in many an airport washroom, and changed clothes, too - for instance when arriving in a warm climate after traveling from the snowy north in the dead of winter. If a plane isn't packed, I'll start that process before landing. Duck into the lav, slip off your shirt and have a quick towel-off if concerned about doing the same at the airport. But the fast washup can be something to do in the 10 minutes you'd spend waiting for baggage.

A poster on flyertalk.com says "As concerns showers, I think that You can access public showers located in the area of the bathroom devoted to the 'Salon Bleriot'. But not sure in fact..."

The aeroports de paris website does not list any showers among their amenities - beauty parlors, yes; a massage service and drugstores. No showers.

If you take the RER to Gare du Nord, there is a McClean on the metro level with showers.

I just deal with it until I get to my hotel...if I get there earlier than check in, I'll usually ask them if there's a public restroom in their lobby I can freshen up a bit...

This is not a totally silly question.
What would happen if you went to a public park and jumped in the fountain?

I have seen kids in the fountain at Place des Voges and the cops paid no mind. Probably different rules for adults, particularly if they stipped.

Of course if it was a cute female ...

I brush my teeth in the on the plane, makes me feel fresh. Air France gave us warm, moist towels on descent, that was enough for me.

The Admirals Club at CDG does not have shower facilities. It also is not available to passengers who arrive at CDG and have CDG as their final destination. AA used to have an arrivals lounge at CDG; however, it closed two or three years ago.

The Ibis - RoissyPole does have day rooms available at a reasonable rate. There are at least three Ibis hotels near CDG; the RoissyPole location is adjacent to the RER station; you can take a free shuttle bus operated by the ADP (Aeroports de Paris).

..I just brush my teeth and "suck it up" until I check in and soak in a bubble bath. If I am not working, I also try to bathe/shower just before leaving from my home to go to the airport. Remember anyone you see on the arrival level will look just as bad as you do!

i used to be pretty tired too, arriving at cdg. i used to pack a trial sized thing of mouthwash, (felt a little wierd about brushing my teeth with airplane water, so i'd use the bottled water they gave us to rinse) and hairbrush (at a minimum) in my carry one. i'd duck into the restroom before landing, and that usually did the trick.
i think there are showers at cdg, but only with a business class for first class ticket for entry into the lounges to use them.
