Armchair travel - Photos from the UK

I'm really enjoying the other armchair travel/photo threads so thought I'd start one about the UK

I'll start with a few shots of Scotland. These aren't my 'best photos ever' but are mostly places that have special meaning to me . . . (Hoping Gardyloo checks in because from other threads I know he has tons of gorgeous pictures)

Dunnottar Castle

Stonehaven Harbor/Harbour just up the road from Dunnottar

Inchamahome Priory on an island in the Lake of Menteith

another of Inchmahome -

Rush hour on Skye

Lindesfarne - just across the border in Northumberland but close enough

Lindesfarne / Holy Island

Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness

Crathes Castle - this is the wallpaper on one of my laptops

Cawdor Castle's gardens

Heilan Coo

Ewes and their lambs sunbathing on Mull with Iona Abbey across the water

Melrose Abbey

Edinburgh Tattoo

Tattoo

Fringe crowds on the Royal Mile

Thanks -- I've walked under/past the Hertford College bridge 100+ times. Brings back some happy memories (and a couple of sad ones)

A different view of London . . . :

Great photos. I really miss the architecture and grand buildings of the UK but not the weather

The UK weather suits me, winter can be tough but in general it is very pleasant.

Beautiful pictures janisj and thanks for posting them. It's dull and dreich here in Scotland today and they fair cheered me up during my 12 weeks lock-down. BTW, I'd have laughed out loud if you'd put up some of Kames and Tighnabruaich - there's memories for you!. Next week my nephew was taking me down to Crossraguel, one of my favourite places and I know you've visited. It's cancelled of course but that is something to look forward to when this madness ends.

A few from Scotland.

A couple from the southernmost peninsula of Skye (I forget the name) taken along an often overlooked road that runs on the west side of the peninsula, around Tarskavaig and Tokavaig.

And from the Trotternish peninsula on the northern end of Skye, the Qriraing formation

. - My photos of Kames/Tighnabruaich are are prints/negatives/slides which I haven't digitized. I didn't get my first digital camera til somewhere around 2005 or thereabouts. But even after that I still used my beloved Pentax slr with ALL those heavy lenses. The 'good old days' of traveling with 36+ rolls of film in 3 or 4 different ASA and lead bags for the high ASA rolls. Half my carry on would be full of camera/case/lenses/filters/film.

twk: I must have 20+ photos from that very same spot at the Qriraing. Some with brilliant blue sky, some with clouds and overcast, and a few where you can't see a darned thing other than the little peak in the foreground.

Love the Pearly king. I once attended the Pearly Harvest Festival at St Martin's in the Field -- Close to 100 pearlies and even a pearly decorated Taxi.

A few more:

The Eye at night

Two towers 1,000 years apart

The view from my favorite flat @ St Katherine's Marina

Garden @ Hampton Court

More HCP flowers

Hampton Court Palace

Back to Scotland . . .

Twins

and a couple more from Inchmahome

And St Andrews Cathedral:
