hi there,
i loved the arles market ... i didn't go to the st. remy market so i can't compare. however, we originally went to arles to see the coliseum, theatre, etc. and ended up spending the majority of our time at the market. it was fantastic! we actually wish we got to arles earlier to take advantage of the market. enjoy!

The Arles market is enormous (get there early - parking's a pain)by comparison to St-Rémy, but both are great markets. You'll probably find more local artisanal stuff at St-Rémy, but then, you can find that stuff in the stores in Arles, too, so you're not sacrificing anything either way.
The only problem with the Arles market, if you're buying produce in particular, is that there are so many stalls selling the same things that you inevitably buy what you think is the perfect barquette of strawberries or the perfect eggplant, and then see one that seems just slightly better at a slightly better price about a quarter mile away. Don't let it get to you.
