Arachova - Hotels

Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Arachova or surrounding area? Thanks.

well, I can you tell one I DIDN'T like - Anemolia Hotel (a Best Western).

Found it a bit shabby, staff gruff, rooms unremarkable, indoor "pool" was unkempt. Even though Arachova is supposed to be mainly a Winter resort, I expected better (was there August 2000).

If I were in the area again, think I'd stay at the Amalia Delfi, even though it's more expensive. The greek Amalia chain is generally more upscale & deluxe. Some of their locations tend to be on the outskirts of town (eg, Olympia and Nauflio), which can be a disadvantage.

There is a lovely hotel at Galaxidi on the coast below Arachova:
http://gsp.gr/ganimede.gr/
If you book there you can mention my name, I have stayed there and recommended it to other people.
Otherwise in Arachova try the Arachova Inn.
For good hotels in other parts of Greece try www.i-escape.com.

Seems to me Galaxidi is quite a drive, I think it took me about an hour to drive from Delfi to Galaxidi (approx 30km, curvy road in parts) ... of course I did make some stops by the roadside to admire the view.

Galaxidi is worth a diversion, but I wouldn't have used it as a base from which to explore Delfi.

Hi,
My vote is for Galaxidi. I stayed there 2 years ago for 6 days. Totally unspoilt, nice waterfront, clean sea and a good base for Delphi and Arachova. We had two children with us and found the drive an easy one.
Carolina
