apartments in Florence

Any suggestions for an apartment for 2 for 4 days. Since our time there is limited we would like to be close to downtown. Thanks in advance.

It might help to have some more information - what's your budget? Have you checked venere.com? I've also heard positive reviews from people who have used italyperfect.com. They might be a good start for you.

My usual suggestion is Casa Caterina but not sure how many you are and what your budget is.

Try www.residenzailcarmine.com-it is in the Oltrano area (across the river) but Florence is small and easy to get around. There are many good restaurants and shops in that area. It got good reviews on Slowtravel.

We stayed in Alloro B&B www.allorobb.it which is about halfway between the train station and the Duomo. Good-sized rooms, generous breakfast served in your room, good bathrooms. The only drawback may be there is no one on duty at night. But you have your own key to get into the front gate.

Casa Caterina was 135eu but has 2 bedrooms so probably more than you need. Hope you get something good.

I stayed in this apartment with my daughter for 2 nights last July. The little courtyard garden was delightful, and the location was very central and convenient, just round the corner from the Accademia, little more than 5 minutes walk to the Duomo, the markets, the station.
