Apartment Review-Piazza Rondanini 29-Rome

I try to always post my apartment reviews both here and on slowtrav. This is not an advertisement.

My wife and I rented this apartment from Dec 21 untl Jan 1 2009/2010, using Sleep in Italy as the broker.

I guess the first thing that comes to mind is WOW. Of all the apartments we have rented through Sleep in Italy, and we have had some great ones, this one beat them all.

First, location, location, location. It is 1 block from the Pantheon, 3 blocks from Navona. 100 meters to bus stop on either Renasimento or Corso, 1 block from a decent market and most important--2 blocks from Della Palma Gelato!

The apartment was a 1 bedroom with a great couch. It is beautifully appointed, looking down on Piazza Rondanini. I have a bad back and while the bed might be a bit hard for some folks, for us it was perfect. The bedroom is pretty large.

It has a fully equipped kitchen, with washer and dishwasher. High-speed internet and very modern tile work throughout. The bathroom was huge. It is on the first floor (second floor American), but the stairs were an easy climb. You could also take the lift to the second floor and walk down.

It is air-conditioned, but being there in December we didn't try it out. An entire wall is closet space. The couch was really comfy and the dining table seated six with ease. The owner/mgr was a great guy and was waiting on us, even though our plane was an hour late.

There is absolutely nothing I could say as a negative against this apartment and would give anything if it were available in February when we return. I think the couch may be a sofa bed, but we didn't really look to make sure. Being over 6 feet tall, it was great for me, with plenty of room to stretch out..

Even though the Piazza has three restaurants, with the windows closed there was not a sound. It is a very secure location, very secure.

As usual, Sleep In Italy (sleepinitaly.com) went overboard in helping us. We loved this apartment and would highly recommend it for 2, 3 or (if it is a sofa bed couch) 4. This one gets 4 stars from us!

Hi Dave, can you post a reference no or similar so that I can work out which apartment it is? It sounds great and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I guess you need to go to the sleepinitaly.com site and type in Rondanini in the search box, it is the only one that comes up. It is really as nice as the pictures.

The couch is a sofa bed - and a comfortable one too as testified by my daughter when we stayed there in 2006.

Actually, I 'reviewed' this apartment too...

Several other fodorites have stayed there in the past, Patrick, kopp, and celiaanne had booked it but was bumped from it due apparently to some problem with the drains I think.

I'd definitely stay there again.
