Anyone up for some armchair travel to Switzerland?
This time of year spouse and I would normally be getting ready for our annual winter pilgrimage to Switzerland.
Our MO is to travel to Switzerland early in December to take full advantage of the calm before the holiday ski season storm. We then usually head to Germany for a dose of Christmas Markets before returning home.
There's already a great thread on Armchair Travel to Germany, so I thought I'd start one on Switzerland for those of us missing this beautiful country.
Please join in. The more photos of Switzerland the better!

Ah yes, December 2014...we traded the hot sticky white sand of Perth, Australia for the white winter wonderland of Switzerland. I can't remember the last time I was so excited to see schnee.

It is still a bit early but I see that people are getting into pre-Christmas mood already. So let me share one of my favourite events that takes place in Basel.
Every year around St Nicholas Day (Saturday closest to Dec 6, to be precise) the regional chapter of Harley Davidson club do a charity run known as "Harley Niggi Näggi". They dress up as Santa Clauses, decorate their bikes, and parade through the city to the main square, where they collect donations for a project that helps homeless people.

They are coming

They decorate their bikes with amazing imagination.

Ho - ho - ho!

Mr. and Mrs. Claus

Santa and the angel - yes, they all wear helmets underneath

How many Christmas trees fit on one Harley?

How many reindeer...

... fit on one Harley?

"Harley Donkeyson"

Another Santa took the waterway on the Rhine

Perfect timing, Mel - I'm taking two days off since Wednesday is a holiday in my part of Germany
Hm, which photos ... I'll start with a Davos/Saas Fee trip back in 1993. Pre-digital era, so please forgive the lousy quality of some photos.
