Anyone stayed in Monteriggioni?
Last month, while in Tuscany, we visited Monteriggioni and noticed there was at least one hotel there. Has anyone stayed there? We thought it might be a nice place to spend a couple of quiet days.
Thanks for any information you can give. I'm fairly new to this board (read a lot, only posted a few times), and have been amazed at the depth of travel knowledge of the posters here.

On our visit last spring I only say one hotel in town, there's not that much town. We had fallen in love with Monteriggioni so I stopped in to get a business card for a possible return. While I asked for a card at the front desk my wife was told in no uncertain terms to stay off the uncarpeted areas they had just been cleaned. I returned the card to the desk and we left, not the type of place I would want to stay.

That must be the hotel Monteriggioni, the only one as far as I know that is within the city walls.
We have stayed in a fattoria (agroturismo) in Abbadia a Isola, just outside Monteriggioni. We found the location to be perfect: quiet and central, excellent for exploring Tuscany.
