I've looked at websites and found the following have availability for our timeframe this summer. Anyone stayed/know anything about any of these? Or have a personal recommendation about a cottage to rent in this area for under 400 pounds a week (4 adults)? Thanks!!!!

After very extensive research, we have just rented a self-catering in Stroud, Gloucestershire for 1 week in June--here is the website if you are interested: www.westleyfarm.co.uk/

ceejay is looking for a place in Suffolk - across the country from Stroud.
Ceejay: If anyone has stayed in any of those specific cottages it would be a terrific coincidence. Each is a "one-off" out of hundreds available in East Anglia. Not like a B&B or hotel that has hundreds of guests a year.
So I can't help you with any of those particular places - I'd just pick whichever one is in the best location for you and look nice on their website.
You will love Suffolk/Norfolk.

Ceejay..
I have friends who live in Earl Soham. They are here now for the winter and I'll be seeing them tomorrow for dinner.
I'll ask if they are familiar with The Granary..though I can tell you they love the village..great pub and a wonderful butcher and a lady who sells wonderful prepared foods in her shop.

The cottages you list are scattered throughout Suffolk from the Norfolk border in the north, to the Essex border in the south. Suggest you decide first on what part of Suffolk you would like to stay in, and then concentrate on the cottages available in that area.
I agree with Janis that it is very unlikely anyone having stayed in these cottages will stumble across your post on Fodors.

Hey, I was born in Suffolk, lived in Woodbridge for 15 years, and still live in the county (in Bury St Edmunds). If you'd like any advise on touring the region please feel free to get in touch. Can't offer advise on the cottages I'm afraid as I was living in my own house!!!

Hey Jimbo, that would be great!!!
We will be staying in a cottage near Bury. So what are your pub recommendations? I can see us heading "home" after a hard day of sight-seeing, and needing a place for a good beer/cider and pub grub!
