I must be losing it ,cause I can,t find my request about anyone knowing the Elysee hotel in Lyon at rue President l Douard-Heriot. Appreciate any other idess about apecial sights in the area and FOOD. If it,s not moving we eat it. If it,s moving we kill it and eat it. No car on this trip. Thank you anyone.

Lyon is great. I don't know your hotel but I will tell you to go into Vieux Lyon and explore. Take the funicular up to Fouviere and gaze out over the vastness of the area. Walk down, past the old Roman Theatre ruins and eat at the many outdoor bistros in Vieux Lyon. Lyon is the gastronomical capital of France. My favorite is the Salade Lyonnaise, but I recently had a wonderful duck tart at one of the outdoor bistros. You can't go wrong.

I'm sure you will get other advice about things to see in the city. One of my favorite views is from the right side of the train going in to Gare Perrache as you cross the first river.

Seems that most of the requests re Lyon in last couple of weeks have your name on them, and that you've already received a good bit of info. What else can we tell you?

I loved Lyon, the food is tremendous at just about any restaurant, the traboules, the medieval part of the city and the Roman ruins are all worthwhile.

In a word..Lyon is fantastic.

I liked the view from Fouviere toward the French Alps...magnificent!

US
