Susan, my schedule has changed as I'll only be able to have dinner with you in Rome on the 28th at Orso 80. I'm leaving next Tuesday, the 13th, so hopefully you'll get this message. Once again, Venice is out, but Rome at Orso 80 on the 28th at 7:30PM is on. Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike, I just answered on your other thread. Thanks for letting me know. I look forward to seeing you in Rome on the 28th.

I was planning to bring this thread back up in the next day or two anyway to reconfirm with everyone. (After all the planning and research, it just doesn't seem real that I'm leaving in less than a week). Anyway, in addition to Mike, the others I'm meeting are as follows:

Florence:
9/22, meeting JenV and her friend at Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco at 8:00.

Rome:
10/1, meeting Barb at Ristorante del Pallaro at 8:00.

If anyone else wants to join us, or if anyone wants to meet up on any other day (see my list at the beginning of this thread of where I'll be), just let me know!

Susan,

I'll be there at 8:00 pm. Looking forward to it. 20 days until I leave - yahoo. Let's meet out front - I'll be the short blonde.

If you're afraid you can't recognize each other - a bottle of wine in one hand and a huge bouguet in the other will definitely help

Faina, I'm really not worried. I think I noted earlier in the thread that there can't be too many with our names looking for each other outside the restaurant!

BarbMike, Susan and all - We will be in Rome on the 28th (our honeymoon 1 year late!) Can you spare space for 4 more people? (my husbands sister will be in Rome as well!) Sounds like fun and Orso 80 was on my food list! I'll keep checking this site for more info - We leave the 26th!

jamiec, Mike & I would be glad to have you join us. We're meeting outside Orso 80 at 7:30 on the 28th. I'm just wondering if we should have a reservation, since it will be six people. You will be in Rome before I get there, could you make a reservation for six at 7:30?

I love L'Orso 80 (and Rome as well)! I hope you have a great trip and a great dinner. Please let me know if it's still good. I've been going to Orso for 20 years, the last time last year and it was great.

Susan - sorry for the dalay - hoping you get this at some point - Our schedule is adjusting a bit and we are not sure if we will be able to make it. Is there somewhere we can touch base once we arrive? We will have a cell phone, just not sure what the # is. We are staying in an apt. so there is no phone there (that I know of) We should have our itinierary tacked down by next Wednesday and I will be posting it. Hopefully, we will see you and Mike at L'Orso 80 on the 28th @ 7:30...

I am going to Italy (for my first time) very soon as well and I am so glad I found this thread - so many restaurant's that are well recommended by most of you!
For the restaurants named here, are reservations typically needed for just 2 people?
And this might be a silly question, but is there a way to tell a good restaurant from a bad restaurant?
