Anyone canoed on the Sorgue River with Kayak Vert?
Hi all! I'll be spending a night in Isle sur la Sorgue in a few weeks (in the middle of a two-week trip) and became inspired today to look into canoe trips on the river. I found a trip sponsored by Kayak Vert from Fontaine de Vaucluse to Isle sur la Sorgue. Sounds wonderful! Has anyone done this? I'm wondering how long it takes, how difficult it is, and what you think of the company. Also wonder if I need to book ahead or if I can make plans when I get there. Thanks!

There is a post on another site that recommends it. The owner's hotmail address is also given there. Perhaps she could provide more info:

On the company's website, the canoes are shown. Some of them look pretty-bush-league by our (Canadian) standards -- but I grew up in a canoe.
The route is 8 km, I believe, and descends in a series of "douces pentes" (easy slopes)
It does not sound very difficult at all.
I see their season is April until late October. Having seen such sights as the Fontaine de Vaucluse in August (a trickle) I'd suggest the earlier in the season, the better

Thanks Tedgale! I like the image of growing up in a canoe, and appreciate the translation of "douces pentes." I am a little leery of canoes since my husband's experience on the River D'Argens, where what he envisioned as a leisurely cruise down the river while sipping wine turned into a life and death battle with raging waters! This trip sounds more my speed.
