Shocking News About Peter Deilmann River Cruises

I posted this over in the Cruise forum, but I know that this forum is more active and might draw potential river-cruisers as well.

Because of financial difficulties, Peter Deilmann is getting out of the river cruise business by the end of October. I'm really shocked because they have always run one of the best sets of river-cruise itineraries. And they actually own all their ships. They do operate other kinds of cruises, which are apparently not affected. If I hear anything more substantial, I'll re-post here.

Good grief! We're scheduled with them in Sept. They're our favorite for river cruises.

I know a couple who just completed a Deilmann cruise. It will be interesting to see if they have any comments or feedback about this.

Gwendolynn, you should be safe if you are going in September. Cruises continue through October, and it's always possible another operator will take over their ships and crews, which have a very positive reputation.
