Frankly, you haven't been to Venice, really, until you've tried walking from one end to the other, cross the Grand Canal, and tried to walk back -- and gotten lost at least 20 times doing it! We ended up needed three different maps depending on whether we needed detail of the little alleys, names of areas, or notable sights. Never found a map that did all three well.
