Any such thing as a half-board plan in Rome?
We're needing a place for at least a week in October 05 (and an overnight in June). We've done this in Germany and been quite pleased.
I'm SO tired of searching and searching for the right place to stay!

Typically this is common in resorts - not cities. I'm not aware of anything like this - but there may well be something. Have you done searches including half-board or dinner on the various hotel search engines (many allow special key word searches!)

Usually no however try to google on pensiones (search pensione+rome) and see what results you come in. It is mostly inexpensive accommodation with not exciting food. Why would you want half-board in Rome?? There are so many inexpensive eateries.

After thinking it over, I agree with you. It was a silly thing to post.
I think what I was hoping for (but didn't think it through) was for a 3* hotel that also had a *good* restaurant in it. We are older and get tired out after walking all day and sometimes prefer to eat in and not have to search for a place to eat out.
But of course I don't want mediocre food in Rome - of all places!

(light bulb going on)
Come to think of it, when we stayed at La Cisterna in San Gimi there was an option for half board.
We did eat there one night but it was fun to "eat around" and not too far to walk. Of course there was that hill back to the hotel!

The Lancleot Hotel offers half board, second meal being dinner.
It gets great reviews on TripAdvisor.

We have only stayed at the del Senato, and Hotel Campo di' Fiori before but I have made reservations for the Lancelot for our next year trip.
If you e-mail them, they usually take a day to reply.

Thanks for the suggestions, Platzman and nanb. I looked at the website for the Lancelot and it looks very good. I wonder if you get a break if you stay a week? When are you booking for?
Eloise,
Yes, I have heard that there are a lot around. Now to figure out where we want to eat!
