Any info on bus/ferry along Italian Riviera di Ponente?

A friend will be spending a week in Imperia while her daughter attends a water polo summer program, and she'd like to take day trips to towns along the coast. I've found the train info, but I'm wondering if there is any ferry service. Also, I know there is bus service between Genoa and perhaps as far as Nice, but I can't find a company name. Can anyone help?

I've looked at ferries from Genoa to Barcelona but I am sure there are others to Nice. Use the Fodor's site - click on destinations, then Italy, Genoa, and then travel tips. You will find bus, ferry, train and plane info.

Thanks, but Fodor's info is very general. The ferries mentioned are from Genoa to Sardinia, Corsica and coastal towns south of Genoa. The bus service mentioned is an airport bus from Genoa to Nice.

I'm looking for what I would characterize as "local" transportation similar to ferries and bus service in the Bay of Naples/Amalfi Coast area.

Anyone?

This seems to be the local bus line similar to the sita busses on the amalfi coast but it is only in Italian.

Jean - The bus company for the Imperia region is
www.rivieratrasporti.it.

(Tigullio is for buses around Rapallo, not the Riviera Ponente).

There are others for the Savona and Genova regions.

Eurolines runs a Nice-Pisa service - so I'd imagine that would stop in Genova. Otherwise train will be best.

There are ferries along the Levante Riviera but I'm not sure there are any along the Ponente. Maybe someone else can confirm.

Hope this helps ...

Thanks Steve_James! The rivieratrasporti site is exactly what I was looking for with regard to bus service.

I'll keep looking for ferry info.

Thanks again.
