I'm curious about this too since I will be based on Hvar. So far my research indicates that there are Korcula-based boats that leave Korcula in the morning to Hvar Town and return in the evening. I have not found anything that supports a day trip to Korcula from Hvar.

Bodhijack,
My suggestion for the Dubrovnik/Korcula part of your question would be to not bother with the ferry from Dubrovnik, as it would take most of your day. Instead, take the bus up the coast to Orebic, which is just across the strait from Korcula, and then hop on the ferry from there. The ride only takes about 15 minutes, and costs 10 Kuna for a passenger. There are something like 18 sailings a day, so you can plan on a long time to explore the town.
To take a car would be much more expensive, and would be a pain in tiny Korcula town.
Have a great trip. You will love Croatia!

thank you all for your research. the bus from dubrovnik to orebic is 2+ hours ( plus ferry time). too much travel for day-trip. a regularly-scheduled cat from hvar to korcula town is 1 hour, but only goes 1x/day at 3:00pm. i'm hoping that some local boats (from hvar) go there with small groups as day-trips.........

We are also hoping there is a day trip from Hvar to Korcula. Atlas does a day trip between Dubrovnick and Korcula and one from Split to Korcula, but not from Hvar. We'll be there in June so will report back when we return in July.
