Any experience with Spanair?

We are thinking of taking them from Sevilla to Barcelona. Any experiences? Any hidden costs we should be aware of, luggage restrictions, etc. thanks

Hi,

I have taken Spanair several times, all of them good experiences. If you are booking through their website they breakdown the price of the ticket and show the taxes and service fees, nothing hidden.

Regarding luggage restrictions, pretty much the same as any other intra-Europe airline. One checked bag allowed and one small carry on. Both of these have weight restrictions as well.
This is all spelled out in the Spanair website

We flew Spanair in September, Madrid to Malaga, and it was just fine. No problems with luggage or delays.

We flew from Sevilla to BCN in 2004 on AirEuropa. Excellent flight on a brand new Boeing 737.

Booked and received tickets before we left home via Travelocity. My recollection is the price was less than $100 US dollars.

Have flown Spanair. Service was fine. No delays or baggage issues. Iberia and Air Europa also fly that route, so do some shopping and see which one has the better rates if you are flexible on your flight schedule!

Spanair is a good airline. Better than Iberia for sure, Though that is not difficult to achive.
They are very strict with the time schedule, the good part is their planes run mainly on time but do not be one minute late, or you will miss the trip.

Unless they have changed, you'll get 20 Kg of checked luggage allowance per person.

I flew SpanAir from BCN to MAD in 2004 and it was excellent. On time, comfortable seats, a very good experience. At the time, the ticket was $45USD.
