Any Experience with Car Rental Group in Italy?

I am trying to reserve a car to use in Sicily this July. The Car Rental Group is the only place that has a 7 passenger auto available that I can find.

Does anybody here know anything about them? They seem to be a middle man for Alamo and Thrifty.

Also, I tried to post this message earlier; so if there are two of these I apologize.

We could pick it up and drop it off either in Cefalu (1st choice) or at the train station in Palermo.

Autoeurope has 2 models for you at the centrale station in Palermo. One is a Fiat van, the other is a VW Caravelle.

We rented a FIAT STILO MULTIWAGON 7 passenger thru Thrifty website...it was the best deal we found after much research...pickup and dropping off at the Catania airport.$433.79 USD per week (with a Senior discount though)

Like Bob the Navigator, we just returned from Sicily. We rented through Autoeurope, picking up at Catania Airport and dropping off at Palermo near the ferry docks. We've used Autoeurope five times now without problems or surprise charges. Often they give us EuropeCar or Avis. They are quoting Volkswagon Golf and Ford Focus wagons at $650 per week from Catania (manual). Of course, convenience to where you plan to pick up and drop off is the most important factor to consider. Good luck.

Hi livvie --

Also used AutoEurope before and had a great experience. Our car was slightly banged up from somebody grazing it in a parking lot. When we returned it in Siena, no charges were incurred (thanks to the complete coverage).

Good luck! - h.
