Any Comments on My Germany-Austria Itinerary?

Months ago I put out an itinerary for your comments and many of you said we were moving around too much. While we like to see as much as possible on our vacations, we decided to slow it down a little on this trip.

May 7-8 Arrive in Frankfurt and drive to Beilstein. Have rez at Haus Lipmann for 2 nights. Visit Cochem and Burg Eltz.

May 9-11 Beilstein to Heidelburg for lunch and a quick walk around then on to Bad Wimpfen for 3 nights. Day trips to Schwabisch Hall and Dinkelsbuhl. Staying at Neckarblick Hotel in Bad Wimpfen.

May 12-13 Two nights in Hall in Tirol at the Gasthof Badl. Visit Swarovski Crystal World and maybe drive down to Vipiteno.

May 14-16 Three nights in Hallstatt at the Gruner Baum. Day trips to Wolfgangsee and maybe Badgastein.

May 17-18 Still undecided between Bamberg and Iphofen. Have had no response to my emails to the Goldene Krone in Iphofen. Looking at the National Hotel in Bamberg.

May 19 - Late afternoon arrival at a hotel near Frankfurt Airport. Trying to keep cost under 80 Euro, but want some place easy to find.

May 20 - Return home.

Would appreciate your thoughts. Still looking at car rental rates and have yet to buy our airline tickets. Will probably have to nail down something within the next couple of weeks.

Regarding a hotel on May 19, the Hotel Ibis in Kelsterbach which is only about a five minute drive to the airport has a double room available for 72 Euro. Breakfast costs 9 Euro per person.

Sounds like a nice trip. Michelstadt and Miltenberg are towns you might look into when in Bad Wimpfen; Dinkelsbuehl is quite a distance.

Have stayed at the Mainz Ibis at about the same rate - good deal, and Mainz is a very enjoyable place to spend a final evening.

Decided to book the Holiday Inn Express in Moerfelden about 7 miles south of the Frankfurt Airport right off the A5 for 65 Euro including breakfast and taxes.
