You're probably looking for first-hand personal experience, and I'm sorry I can't offer that; I have driven through annecy en route to a wonderful stay in nearby Talloires (l'Abbaye)...

...but as a generic resource, the website tripadvisor.com is always a good place to start, and it turned up this place (and four others) that sounds pretty good to me:

Near the casino at the end of a tree-lined lakefront boulevard, this government-rated three-star hotel is 2 minutes on foot from the lake and Imperial Park. Owned by the Clavel family since 1919, it's a member of the Logis de France chain, which caters to families. The public and private rooms follow the decor of the Haute Savoy. Each guest room is cozy and comfortable, but not extravagant. Half of the units contain combination tub/showers. The chef serves three different fixed-price menus in the adjacent restaurant.

We've always enjoyed staying at what are called restaurants avec chambres--restaurants with rooms. The main focus is on the restaurant, but the rooms we've stayed in have always been very nice--the idea is to make it easy for diners to stay after an evening meal. One restaurant avec chambres in Annecy is the Belvedere, with rooms from 85 to 125 Euros. It's just a little out of town (2 km southeast) and sounds very pleasant.

Near the train station is Les Terrasses; rooms there are 51/72 Euros.

Finally, there's the Palais de L'Isle, near the canals; rooms are 92/140 Euros.

The Michelin Guide has about a dozen others, in various price ranges.

We stayed at the Hotel de Palais de l'Isle. The location is right in the heart of the old town area and just a short walk to the lake. It's been about 3 years since we were there, but at the time the rooms were furnished in a very modern but comfortable fashion.

Dudi, We have stayed at the wonderful Auberge du "Pere Bise" that overlooks Lac Annecy in Tailloires. We loved our room and the food.

The Ibis is nice, affordable, located in the central part of the old town, and has its own covered parking.

We stayed at the Hotel du Chateau two years ago. About a three minute walk to the center of the old town, right next to the Chateau, plenty of parking. Large room and decent bathroom. It was very reasonable, under 75€ for a quad, although breakfast was extra so we just went to a patisserie in town.

My sister and I also stayed at Hotel de Palais de l'Isle. I was impressed with the modern room...also that it seemed so large by European standards.
