Andalucia in February / March

How is Andalucia (Cordoba, Ubeda, Granada, Frigiliana, Ronda, Jerez de la Fontera, Seville, and Madrid) the last week of February and first week of March. I've check Weather Underground, and it looks like high 50's to low 60's, which would be perfect. We're not looking to spend time at the beach, we'd rather be hiking and exploring towns/cities. I'm wondering what the general mood is of the area. Is it sunny without the crowds, or more dreary and closed for the season feel? Thanks!

That's a great time to go. Not too hot and the summer tourist season hasn't taken off as yet. However, the area is year round so you may well find places are busy-no out of season blues there.

This year, the last week of February coincides with carnival, and you can expect some local celebrations (true, it's not Rio) with processions etc. Most likely around the weekend of 22/23 February. If you intend to visit very popular sights like Alhambra in Granada and Alcazar (with Royal Apartment) in Seville, book in advance.

If you go to Ubeda, visit Baeza and Jaen too!
