Andalucia in April - help with details!
Hello everyone! I've gotten tons of excellent info through this forum, but I still have a few questions. I'm planning a trip to Andalusia April 7-April 15. I want to see the biggees: Seville, Granada, Cordoba, possibly Madrid. I prefer to spend more time in fewer places rather than tearing around like a crazy person!
Here are the questions I can't find answers to:
1) I'm trying to decide on whether I should fly into Madrid or Malaga (from NY) It would be nice to see Madrid before heading south, but is it worth the extra travel time/train ticket? Is it easier to just fly right into Andalucia? Any tips?
2) I'll be arriving the day before Easter Sunday. I have no idea what to expect in terms of trying to plan for travel/hotels. If I fly into Madrid, should I lay low until Monday? Or can I hop on a train Easter Sunday and head right to Andalucia? Where will it be easiest to find a hotel on Easter Sunday?
3) There doesn't seem to be any consensus on order of itinerary for Andalucia. Given that my trip will start Easter Sunday, and I'll be using train travel, and that I'm starting in Madrid, should I OR Madrid-->Seville-->white towns-->Granada?
Thanks to all who may be able to provide insight into making a smoother trip...

Kas238,
I think Madrid is well worth a visit.
and comunications from Madrid-south are very good.
It will be much easier to find hotels in Madrid than in the south during eastern holidays.
I don't think moving during eastern Sunday will be any easy.
Hotels for Sunday night should not be a big problem as must of the country has to be back at work on Monday. Except for Barcelona, on tuesday.
Hope it helps

I really enjoyed my time in Madrid, but if you've only got 7 or 8 days, and if you prefer a slower pace of travel, then focusing on Seville, Granada, and Cordoba might make most sense. You might consider a day or two somewhere else in Andalusia, for example, Ronda or Las Alpujarras. Hope that helps!
