Amsterdam vs Prague

Simple query: I have either 2days at Amsterdam or 1day at Prague. I feel sorry asking this question coz I know the status of them both. But still as a tourist, I have no option but to ask:
Which one should I prefer?

how the heck would anyone know. I am in Prague several times a year and it is a great place for a short visit with lots to see and do in a small area. I used to travel to Amsterdam quite a bit over 2o year ago and loved it to bits but for a short stay then I would go to Prague.

What are your interests? What else are you seeing? What time of year? What is the context?

Oh it seems I have been pretty reckless with this question (unlike previous ones). Sorry for that. Ok so here it goes:

I'll be attending a scientific conference in Bremen, Germany 2014 from 15-19 September, 2014.

From there, I plan to head either in direction of Amsterdam or Prague. If I go to Prague, I'll also go to Munich for 1day to attend Oktoberfest. If I go to Amsterdam, I have full two days to spend there.

Well, I have heard, that as cities, they both are beautiful. So my interest lies primarily in witnessing that beauty. Also, I won't mind going to a couple of pubs/bars. So it is basically wandering around the city, and having generic fun. I am not very much interested, say in museums etc but more interested in natural things. So yea, that is about it.

I say Amsterdam because it's closer.

I seem to remember you were also talking about Paris Where are you going AFTER Amsterdam or Paris - so we can figure out how much time you really have?

I would choose Amsterdam. I enjoyed visiting there more than Prague. Also, two days in one place gives you a better chance to see more at a more relaxed pace.

If I chose Amsterdam, then straight to Paris.
If I chose Prague, then first to Munich and then to Paris.
@KTtravel This is what I is bothering me as well. But it is just the call of Oktoberfest that is not helping me decide. So it is basically Amsterdam vs (Prague + Oktoberfest). I know I am being super greedy here.

I try not to have any stops that are just one day, so which ever place you choose, I'd go there for two days. If you must go to Oktoberfest, I'd stay two days.

Are you not considering visiting anything else in Munich? It's got a LOT to offer....

personally I would spend the extra time in Prague drinking some fantastic beers and visiting some magic pubs rather than go to the puke fest in Munich.

I prefer Prague myself, but would never go all that way (Germany to Prague) for one day. I also am not particularly interested in beer fests, so that would be of no interest to me. Generally, I hate those big crowded festivals, anyway. They always sound great in theory but end up not so much.
