I (and my two friends) am looking for suggestions for travel b/n Amsterdam and Dortmund/Gelsenkirchen for next years World Cup. I will be staying in Amsterdam but going to a game on Sat in Dortmund and a game Monday in Gelsenkirchen. I've looked at train service (a few stops and long hours) and driving (2-2.5hrs). Any suggestions?

Any thoughts on the drive b/n these sites?

I have read, that there special rail&fly tickets available between Amsterdam Airport and Western Germany, but I do not remember the internet link.

Train service is 2:46 between AMS and DO (just one change of trains) at 48,20 EUR. You are not faster by car. They way back from Gelsenkirchen is even shorter. Take the train. From the stations there is public transport to the arenas.

Thanks. Unfortunately, it looks like we now will have games in Kaiserslautern on 06/26 and Dortmund on 06/27 so we may need to drive and spend a night somewhere b/n cities.
