Amsterdam July 30 2022
Arriving in Amsterdam on Friday July 29 early am from USA. Staying on Jan Lukenstraat. Taking a 14 day cruise out of Amsterdam on Sunday July 31st. First time in Amsterdam, just found out PRIDE week starts on the 30th. When we have visited cities that have had large events it causes delays and shutdowns of public transportation. Trying to plan best museum, transportation, tours and which day with the short time we have which now looks like might be complicated by this event. Any feedback on experience with this event in the past and how it affects the city is greatly appreciated. Would it be best to push the limit on Friday to see Ann frank house, other museums, and then maybe just leave the city and take a tour to the outer areas to see the windmills, etc??

Your hotel is right next to Museumplein for the Rijks, van Gogh and Stedelijk museums.
There is a Pride Wak in the afternoon of the 30th as well as events in Vondelpark, so whilst it might be a bit busier than normal on the streets it shouldn't affect public transport too much, if at all.
You can walk to the Anne Frankhuis from your hotel in about half an hour.
I would stay and enjoy the city for such a short time. Make sure you book your tickets online for Anne Frankhuis, the Rijks and the Van Gogh - timed entry only.

Thanks-Have some issues with walking longer distances so taking the tram and buses for 15 min. Instead of walking 30 minutes adds up after a day of sightseeing and walking in museums! Do realize we need to make timed ticket reservations which is part of my concern for what transportation issues we may have. Trying to decide if the I Amsterdam card will be worthwhile-? Would use it for bus, tram transport between museums-Ann Frank, Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, blue boat Canal ride, ? Amsterdam museum, royal palace. Any great hidden gems of museums I should know about? Will probably take Uber to and from the airport/hotel/cruise port as we will have 2 suitcases each with the 2 week cruise. Appreciate all the insights!

Hidden gems: do try to visit one of the canal house museums, eg Willet Holthuysen or Museum van Loon. Willet Holthuysen is the better one.
Jan Luykenstraat is very nice, do take a stroll through Vondelpark. A favorite place to stop is the cafe of Centrum De Roos, and its garden, for drinks and vegetarian food. For time travel to old-timey, bohemian, Amsterdam, I recommend lunch at Keyzer Bodega
The #12 tram is ideal for your travel purposes.

Thanks
I have been feeling the same about the I Amsterdam card! For lengthier visits I have used similar passes and I do like them as they do encourage me to see some museums I might gave not gone to if not included on the pass. Thanks for the other suggestions always feel overwhelmed when going to a area with multiple restaurants- love personal suggestions, my DH loves going to “ local” eateries instead of the typical “tourist” places. Any restaurant suggestions for the Dam square area if we decide on the Royal Palace and possibly St. Nicholas cathedral. Read that better restaurants on the adjoining streets to the square rather than near the square?

Nieuwmarkt: Cafe de Waag, in the weighing house on Nieuwmarkt: upstairs was the autopsy room where the Professor Tulp from the Rembrandt painting worked
Café Bern (but book, it's popular locally and quite small)
Nam Kee, the Chinese restaurant with cult status
The Duchess (fancy) on Spuistraat, just off Dam
Van Kerkwijk (Nes)
De Brakke Grond (Belgian food!) also in Nes
My personal favorite (many good memories) is Kapitein Zeppos, located in an alley: Gebed zonder End. Well known for its open mic singalong nights. They also do their own boat tours, which they describe as "magical" https://zeppos.nl/en
